You insurance company may require it...

Rhode Island is one of 29 states that has laws allowing for Direct Access to physical therapy (excluding Medicare). However your insurance company may require a referral from your Primary Care Physician before you schedule a visit with a physical therapist.

While we accept most all major insurances, it's important that you check with your insurance company to verify that you are covered for P.T. and their requirements for authorization. If you are covered by a Managed Care Plan you must have both a physician referral and we may also need a managed care referral which can be separate from your PCP referral.

For your first visit...

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first visit so we can collect copies of your insurance information and go over your pre-evaluation forms. Plan on wearing loose-fitting clothing and make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes. An initial evaluation typically takes over an hour where your therapist will review your case and work with you on a plan of care. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call, we want to make you comfortable and relaxed and ready to get back to health!
